In the reserve the river´Guadalquivir´
comes into existence. After filling up the exotic looking lake ´El
Tranco´ he river pursues its way onto Cordoba and Seville and
eventually ends into the Atlantic Ocean
![]() A large part of the reserve consists of high mountains and plains from where you can enjoy, each time again, the spectacular views onto the rest of the reserve or the large Tranco Lake.

Except for the mountain goats
surely one can also encounter deer, wild boar, gamuza and
fox on one of the many walks that can be made within the
reserve. For the ornithologist this reserve is really
special as many bird species can be found here such as the
eagle,vulture and the bee-eater.
About 1400 different species of plants
and herbs can be found in the reserve. 24 of these can only be found
in this specific region amongst them the cazorlean violin (Viola
Cazorlensis ), a small daphodyhl (narcissum longispathus)
and furthermore several species of orchids.
